Hello Spartan Community,
Welcome back from a much needed Spring break. I hope you were able to make the most out of it, and got at least some of your sleep hours back.
With all of us being back in school mode, the attention now turns towards ensuring that our remaining exams, papers, and projects are completed with diligent care and effort.
If it just so happens that you need to take a quick breather from the hectic environment, getting a little bit of reading done would not hurt. Speaking of reading: you can do just that with my Board Report for April 12, which is attached below.
Some quick updates regarding recent activities in Associated Students…
- Later this afternoon, our third to last Board Meeting of the Spring semester will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. in Room 1A of the Diaz Compean Student Union. For those who are interested in potentially joining a committee or even running for office next academic year, this is a great opportunity to get a feel as to how business is conducted.
- Elections for the 2017 – 2018 A.S. Government Representatives are still ongoing. Please make sure to go through the Voter Information Guide, and to make your final decision by voting at as.sjsu.edu/vote. The last day to do so is at 8:00 a.m. on April 13. The announcement of this year’s election winners will be at noon.
- Finally, the Academic Senate is looking into making minor adjustments towards registration policy and undergraduate student honors. With registration policy, changes are being proposed to accommodate the new “California Promise” Program, which seeks to get CSU students out in 4 years. As for undergraduate student honors, changes to President’s and Dean’s Scholars and Latin Honors are being suggested.
As always, please be sure to visit as.sjsu.edu for more information on recent and upcoming campus events. If you have any questions regarding any upcoming activities, please feel free to email me (email@example.com). Thank you.
